check your brake fluid the light comes on when your fluid is low......... temperature will make it expand and contract, which is why its on when cold

Exaclty just fill your brake fluid resevoir up to the top and the light will turn off.

I had the same problem. Pull off the center console and check the wiring connection, it's sort of a quick-connect deal, make sure it's nice and snug.
I had the same problem too during the cold, then all of a sudden last week it started up again. Searching here on HT I found it was a common problem and easily fixed by taking the cap off and putting it back on, unless your low on fluid then that's the solution.

Weird, fluid levels looked OK, but after checking the fluid I turned the car on and voila, no brake light - weird.
Same thing happened to my brake light. It's the float inside the reservoir. Just take off the cap and move the float up/down and lube it up with brake fluid. HTH

Most likely the level could look ok just top it off, and your problem will probably never come back.
I remember checking mine and the fluid was close to the max line. The light kept turning on every so often until i topped it off.

Hey Bryan, good to see you finally made it over to Honda-Tech.
I have the same prob on mine but i jus usually ignore it and it goes off after a few minutes of driving. Ive been keeping an eye on my brake fluid for a good 9 months now (cuz this past winter was the first time i noticed it and then it stopped during the summer and has started to come on again now) and the level is right in the middle. The sensor in the brake resivoir apparently gets dirty and then throws the idiot light at you.

I believe it's actually because that sensor floats, if the sensor is not floating high enough there's not enough fluid in the resevoir.

Youre prolly right. Thanks for the correction.

Yep it's fixed now, topped off the brake fluid to the absolute top and cleaned it, gave it a good jiggle and it hasn't come back on yet! Which is good because sometomes it would stay on all the time, other times it would only do it when it was cold, or durring fast cornering ^_^
