What do you guys think? I really worried that the ride and power will be effected by suck a big wheel. Any input? Appreciate it. Thanks

Honestly i'd be more concerned about my roads than the weight.
I see cali in your location, so i would opt for the 18's with thinner rubber
where as... being in NY i wouldnt roll ANYTHING ever again with less than a 45 profile..which puts me at 17's

I'm going to get my new Si in a few hours myself, and I got the 18s. I really like the way they look, and it's all a matter of opinion I think. I've got the money to spend on 'em, so I'm buying them. If I didn't or it was a stretch, I'd get the 17s and buy aftermarket. Aftermarket will always offer you more options any ways.
And of course, take into mind what Type X had to say. I know Cali roads, and you will be just fine with 18s and a 40 profile.

get the si with the stock wheels. then call me and get some 18's, =D. no but get the stock wheels, keep them for emergency cases and get some 18's, they are really affordable now a days. trust me, i built alot of civic coupes, sedans, si's at the dealership, the si just looks sooo much better with 18's. 17's or less just dont look right on the car (not bashing those with 17's, but as far as aesthetics are concerned, 18's are the way to go).

So no one mentioned anything about the power? Will I notice a difference in tq and will my speedo be off. thanks for all the replies! I really like the look of the HFP's
I don't think power will be effected much. Obviously they're going to be a little heavier but you won't be able to notice. If I were you I'd get the stock 17's now and if you want to go bigger, get after market wheels later.
Well I got the car guy's and I really like it, I can't believe it's civic considering I have owned three previously the quality and all around feel of the car is leaps and bounds better than the old cars. Anyways I got the base model SI with the base wheel's and winter tires. I's looking to autox her so Azenis are in store later this year. ? who has the hondata re-flash and what's your impression. Also I decided and wanted to low key color and chose the Galaxy Gray Metallic. Thanks for you input, I still want some different rim's any opinions besides oem? Thanks again for the input.

I do not have the reflash yet, but I will tell you that you need to add at least headers prior to doing the reflash or intake/exhaust. Otherwise, you will not get any gains, you will loose power.

Yeesh 18" wheels are horrible for two reasons in NYC. #1, hit a pothole or a badly paved road the wrong way, have fun repairing or replacing a bent rim... #2 them tires aren't cheap! Cost me $240 x 4 to replace the tires on the G35 /w Michelin Pilot Sports. I suppose if you're not in NYC, and 240 bucks for a tire doesn't bother you, go for it.
