Pretty much. When i installed mine, it fit pretty snug in there already, i used a 15" adjustable wrench to tighten it.

...........
Is everyone referring to the bar that goes from the top-rear seat belt bolt holes?
Seems to me that this unit wouldn't serve any purpose in our cars.

OH...in that case, ill recommend it.
Any stiffening of the floor is GOOT!!!
Further more, I wouldnt put too much tension on it at all....

if you want the concealed look, then like most threads that have been made in the past....it specifically mentions that the carpet must be trimmed.
The vertical part where the seat belt bolts into is reinforced with a plastic backing, making it a real bitchfest to cut if you don't have the right tools.....especially if you're trying to make it look clean.
For most, they just opt to remove or "roll" the carpet out of the way.
Tensioning it is as simple as turning the nut in the middle of the bar... you will find with those units that the bar ends up being raised.
Again detailed from before, Do-luck recognized this problem and cast/CNC'd (whatever it really is) "C" clamps that you attach by drilling into the tunnel of the car.
I don't know what they cost now, but back then whatever they were asking was unreasonable for my budget....if you have connections and are willing to drill, I'm sure any good fabricator can make them for the fraction of the cost.
Of course, they won't be anodized in Do-Luck purple though....but that ain't hard to do now is it?
