slight problem i ran into
so im so close to finishing up my swap that i can smell it... went to put oil in the tranny and guess what... the metal part that goes around the little bolt where u put oil in... snapped... like have of it did at least... so now when u put the bolt in... oil drips out because nearly half of the sourounding metal is gone (mainly the part that has treads)
how can i fix this... jb weld?

sorry i couldnt find my camera but here it is...

i dont know what caused the problem... maybe trying to tighten the bolt too hard but i didnt even push that hard... and on the bottom of the tranny looks as though there is a little cracking... donno if its just form welding or just little cracking barely noticable...

mine did the same thing. i just got an epoxy putty and packed it all around the plug, let it dry and filled it up. I just repeated this process everytime i changed fluids.

i think im gonna try jbwelding it first... because the piece that broke off, its only one piece so i dont think it would be that hard but if that doesnt work then... im gonna try what u did...
where can u get that epoxy putty stuff?

at like advance auto parts, napa, auto zone heck even walmart probably has it. It was just a little cardboard tube (like a toilet paper roll) with 2 puttys inside that you knead together and let it harden.
if that's the bolt you fill the tranny through, i would pit it back in then i would seal it with jb weld. i know it sounds shitty, but your screwed anyways. it'll be a temporary fix until you can get a new housing. and yes you can still refill your tranny, through the vss. which that's where you should have been filling it through. it's alot easier.
This happened to me when i was putting a b16 in a car for a girl i know. Her dad had put the motor up with a 2 by 4 under the transmission and the stress cracked the housing, we ended up having to replace the housing. And the crack happened in the EXACT same spot as yours. moral of the story, never EVER support a motor from that spot.

that would be the bolt you take out to check the level and to remove the snap ring to disassemble the transmission.. not the fill plug.
If you never plan on ripping the tranny apart you could actually plug that hole shut forever and just but the appropriate amount of fluid in each time.
