Nobody uses the term "frankenstein" anymore. Can I ask why you want to change your crank? You have a C5.......I wouldn't mess with it unless you were gonna sleeve it with bigger pistons. Keep your crank man, screw the 89.

If you were to just simply swap blocks, sure you might gain a bit more torque, but you're gonna lose a helluva lot of horsepower and it's gonna be slower.

ok... i was guna swop blocks and then rebuild and replace everything i could pistons, headers, ext.
but if the torque isnt worth it what is the best thing to do with a b18c5 motor?
and if no one uses the term frankenstein what do they say?

The "best thing to do with your motor?" I would ask what your budget is first and go from there. Very respectable #'s can be acheived with a stock C5 block.

B20/vtec or ls/vtec.

For real.

Sell the C5.

Buy a B16 or B18C1 head.
Pistons, rods, GE LS/VTEC kit
GSR oil/water pumps
turbo setup of your choice
EMS of your choice

Oh, I thought I saw the phrase "best thing to do" and the word "torque" in the same paragraph.
