Selling ITR sucks
... when you have to deal with people below.
everything looks good except the price, are you aware that the average type r asking price is 5,500. the Kelley Blue Book rates a gs-r of the same # of miles and same year in EXCELLENT condition to be about $5,515. A GOOD condition gs-r is worth 4,980. although those arent type r readings, they give a good estimate because the only difference between the gs-r and type-r is the name and 25 horsepower
25 more horsepower for the type r is not worth $5,500 more. It really isn't priced to sell. I think you should revise the price.

If he can find legit ones for 5k, I want about 10 of em.
I think that guy doesn't really realize what the car is. I would suggest you put the car on http://www.autotrader.com I had the most luck there and actually have sold 3 cars there in the past.

Don't let it get you down. I think $11,999 is a fair price and I am sure lots of people will agree or think you should sell it for more. Just say, 'Thank you for your time.' and move on. Just FYI, one here in KC sold with that many miles for $97,500..... I should have snatched it up.
EDIT: Fixed the price.

IMO, he's trying to sucker the seller into a low price, hoping the seller doesn't know what he's got. All in all, lowballing.

I'm glad I've never gotten any emails like that about mine, but I'd just hit delete. I'm having a hard time finding a buyer for mine also. Brand New JDM HID front, mechanically sound... all people see is the rebuilt title which sucks. I only want $11,250 now!

Everytime I see your thread I wish I had the money on hand to buy it.

Just ignore the lowballers. I wish I could of found a 98 ITR for as cheap and clean as yours. I paid $14,500 with 60k miles for mine last year and when I got it home I discovered it had been in a accident that didn't show up on carfax.
I know this may sound a bit out there.
But why not just hold on to them, I mean I make average wage. But I would never sell mine. I just don't think its worth it.
Whats the 10 grand gonna buy you ?
I mean if your not desperate for the cash just store the car and consider it a sunk cost. Who knows it may be worth a lot 10 years from now.

This is where I am sort of at with the sale of my race ITR. Because it is not a street car, the population of buyers is small and the last potential buyer is still about $1500-$2000 less than the lowest I want to go. So, I am thinking, as in accounting it is just an expense that has already been realized and just keep the car. Other's may be trying to sell to use as a down payment for another car, however, my purpose of a sale is just to take a good bite out of a mortgage.
I do think though that as ITR owner's we are more passionate about our cars, therefore the pricing seems great to us, however, inflated to the potential buyers. Sort of when you go on ebay and see that modified whatever with $$$$$ price tag and you are thinking the seller is crazy asking that much money...passion blinds them from reality. However, I do feel we are justified in our asking prices because passion sometimes does drive up prices... ie look at the old 1960's muscle cars that sold for $1500 40 years ago and sell for $100K today.
Anyway, enough rambling (I working the night shift, it is 4am, and I am tired. lol!)

Tell them to go find the cheapest ITR they can find and get back to you.
You can't even buy a theft recovery ITR for under $12,000. Yours is priced fine.
I should have asked more for mine...
