"it will fit but you do need to remove the flywheel of the automatic and put a manual flywheel on the motor "
Same with the complete engine swap; bolt for bolt except for the H22 engine mounts (duh). Yes, it really is that simple be happy. I am.

It's a honda... for the most part, any "catches" you run into will take some prying/bending/grinding at most. If your friend is considering a swap, the two of you should be able to jerk it out in a night, and compare the 2 trannies side by side.
Mounts, little odds and ends might pop up... but usually you can use a mix of the old and new stuff to make things work.

thanks guys. i only work on EFs so i know theres always a catch to doing things on crx's. thats good to know its pretty simple that way my bussy's daily driver isnt down for long. maybe i'll take pics of everything i do just for future references.

I used to have an EF.
Just imagine, the cleanest 1990 Civic EX Sedan in White. Garaged 90% of it's life, the babied car. I had it for almost a year (because I got my license beginning of Senior year) and I was thinking of getting an LS Vtec some guy was selling (including installation).
Then I crashed it. With the repairs at such a cost rendering the vehicle at a total loss.
Assuming the 95 is the same as the 94 (which I am)...yes you can.
