Default NEW clutch/flywheel horrible milage??

I just installed a stage 4 six puck clutch and 12.5 lb flywhel. Before the install on my worn weak *** OEM clutch I was getting a respectable 390-450 miles per tank. 30mpg was normal with spirited vtec driving everyday.
Now I am on my second tank with the new clutch and getting like 280 to the tank? Anyone have any input on this? I thought if anything the lihgter flywheel would make the motor work less giving me even better milage.
I have NOT beat on the clutch yet at ALL, or even gone to vtec really. I have been casually driving breaking it in for about 300 miles. I do have to rev to about 2500-3000 in first form a dead stop to avoid chatter...would this be why?

It was done professionaly at a local shop...clutch fluid is obviously new, tranny fluid is new (little thicker too I believe) No cels, no weird noises. The car accelerates quicker (obviously). Engages well. pedal is softer as expected. Everything feels great just real bad milage now...

I also replaced my 17 lb rims with 11lb SSR knock offs at the exact same time.

Clutch pedal will always feel softer at first because the tranny input shaft and release fork have fresh high-temp grease on them. It will stiffen up after awhile.

I assume you're breaking it in with city stop-and-go driving, which will definitely make fuel economy lower.

Oh, and what car is this that you normally get 390-450 miles on a tank? It's a MAJOR stretch for me to get 400 on mine. Last weekend I drove 385 miles before finally filling up, put in 12 gallons which was 32.x mpg. That was 100% highway driving, which will not do anything for breaking in a clutch (because it's engaged all the time).

If it's all city driving, I do good just to get over 300 miles on a tank, or around 27-28 mpg.

390 per tank? Thats outrageous. I put 9 gallons in the tank every week and I got 260. 29mpg and I thought that is good.

Clutch shouldnt do anything in terms of gas mileage, unless your clutch is slipping all the time and you car hardly ever moves (which is not the case)

Something doesn't add up here. Even if you got 34 mpg and ran it until nearly empty, and I'm talking gas light has been on forever and you put over 12 gallons in the car, you still would barely get over 400 miles on the tank.

You can't get 400 miles on one tank in an Integra getting 30 mpg.

13.2 gallon tank capacity x 30 mpg = 396 miles. Are you sure you're doing your math right?

Last weekend I got 385 miles on a tank, and put just a hair over 12 gallons in (always fill to the brim every time). That was 32.x mpg.

Yeah I've gotten 36.x on 2 occasions I think, but both times I only drove about 300 miles before filling up. I think it took maybe 8 gallons or so to fill up at those times.

Even when I was commuting 100 miles a day, mostly highway with some stop-and-go, I would get maybe 32 or 33 mpg. To get 420 miles on the tank I would have had to run it out completely. But I would usually fill up with about 2 gallons left, so I would get 360-370 per tank most of the time.

This is with all stock engine stuff, too. I definitely don't see that kind of fuel economy happening with any sort of aftermarket intake, header, exhaust, fuel components, etc.

I wonder if they did somthing to make it run really rich when they replaced it. I don't know what they could really do though to effect it that much.

I'm sure it's conincidental with the clutch install. The clutch and tranny itself have nothing to do with the car's air/fuel ratio.

Well its a competition 6 sprung puck. This car will soon be for autocross and occasional drag.
It is only going to be my daily driver for about 6 more months.
The car is basicly stock plus a few bolt-ons, and I promise I was getting upto 34mpg before...usually about 29-30.
Motor mounts are on the way along with bushings for shifter...they should help a bit. T03/T04 Turbo next year going for about 400whp eventually...at least 300 for sure.

oh and while typing this I just witnessed my car get hit!!! DRIVERS SIDE FENDER IS fu$%^t^&^!!!!
