critique my welds
I've been spending some time at Cody's shop lately (Lovefab)....cleaning up and doing misc bitch work. I finally had the chance to sit down the other day and Cody let me work the torch. A few hrs later I started to feel a little more comfortable behind the mask. Mainly working with thin stuff right now, trying to get a grasp on that first. The pipe in the pictures was welded together and cut apart several times checking penetration.

my first run on some thicker stuff that I found laying around.

Big thanks to Cody for the pointers and coaching to get me started. I know I need to work on the heat range and consistency. Looking for any more tips and constructive criticism.
Thanks

Looks damn good. I would say your travel speed is just about right as that color looks nice. Did you gap the thick piping? What did you penetration look like? What amperage and gas flow are you using?
