Default aftermarket intake manifold useless?

so i was talking to my friend and i told him that im getting a blox intake manifold, and he told me i should stick with the stock gsr one, because i dont have cams....does anyone know if it will make a difference?...im currently running ctr pistons, and the i/h/e combo, with test pipe...will it make a difference?, seeing that it doesnt have secondaries?....

You really do need cams to take full benefit of the manifold. I wouldn't even consider it unless you have cams.

In the high end, but I am assuming you daily drive this and don't spend much time in the high end of the powerband. It will make your low end feel pretty soggy.

if you get it for cheap do it, I have one and my friend just installed his last night, I dont notice much low-end bog, but ones it gets into the high end it feels like it wants to keep pulling

there is far more ingenious design involved in the stock gsr manifold over the skunk2...I certainly would not say the manifold sucks...If youre into the hype...then yea jump on the bandwagon and toss your parts for reasons unknown..But its been proven way too many times by the actual numbers (dimensions of the manifold with respect to peak torque and operating range) and dyno's that the skunk2 design is suited for a powerband beyond what the gsr revs to..Peak torque is shifted up more (this high end surge ppl refer to) but in reality with stock gsr gearing...is that such a good thing?? (you want to land AT peak torque, not work your way to it on every shift)

You can't pick just one because it needs supporting mods such as cams mentioned by another poster in this thread, the intake setup as a whole is a bunch of parts working together to breath, you dont just need lungs to breath, you need a trachea, throat, neck, epiglotis, mouth, nose, sinus, well you get the point.

True story, man. If you have a Skunk2, those 5.0's won't mess with you.
