richmond spool....ring gear Q:
so i got a richmond spool for my ctr tranny thinking the ring gears where the same as an 99-00 si but they arent.....so can i just buy a ring gear out of an si tranny and use it in my ctr tranny..will there be any difference...
its known that the Counter Shaft and the Final Driven Gear Are cut perfect for each other to mate when assembled ...but I have replaced many Final Gears while using the stock Counter Shaft and havent had any problems ..... just make sure ... everything turns smoothly

Where did you hear that?
If the ratios are the same, then you can swap the ring gear. Just count the teeth and make sure they're the same between the 2.

you might need a ring gear from B16..... or a differential for gsr/itr trans..

ok i got an b16 ring gear and it has one less tooth on the ring...but seems that everything turns fine....should i close it up and try it or will it just not work.

Divid the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the counter. Ex: If the ring gear has 60 teeth, counter has 15, final drive=4.00:1
well if the ring gear has 67 teeth then i have a 4.7 final drive right?
and the b16 ring gear has 66 teeth it has a 4.4 final drive..
some one told me that. is this true or wrong..
(mine has 67 teeth)
