ICM Test
Does anyone know how to test if an ICM is working? I have a '92 accord and tested for battery voltage at a few points on the ICM, but I don't know which wire in the ECU to test to. If anyone has any advice, I'm listening.
Thanks!
Thanks!
OK, to update. My tach is not working when I crank the car. I'm getting fuel but no spark, the car cranks. Today I replaced the ICM with a new one. Still no tach, still no spark. The Ignition coil is ok. What wires do I need to test? I'm sure there are a few that go between sensors and the ECU. Any ideas? Would it be easier to just use a cheap aftermarket system (MSD system?)
Thanks!
Thanks!
OK, i was told that the blue negitive wire is worth testing. I'll get on it and report back here. Even if you folks are slow/don't give help im gonna figure this thing out and write about it to keep it in the database in case someone has this same problem in the future. I'm almost positive its a wiring issue.
You should be able to ground the lead that goes to the ECU and make the coil fire. I think it is the blue wire on the ignition module. The ground at the T-stat housing is the ground reference for the ECU.
