Default opinions on itr bar and beaks kit for EK chassis

i know that just about everyone will recommend the ASR or comptech reinforcement bar, but i want to know if anyone is running a larger sized sway bar (~22mm) with a beaks kit on the EK subframe ? has anyone run into or heard about tearing problems WITH the beaks kit installed ??

btw i'm not autoxing or anything.. just driving hard in and out of the mountainsss every now and then

Yes I have seen the damage with the beaks kit. Stick with ASR.

Well the beaks kit does work, but you must run a spring rate of 350lbs+ in the rear, which of course will make your care pretty stiff on bumps and road surfaces. the reason the tear outs happen is because of the soft suspensions that most people run, that causes the rear subframe to flex with the swaybar, thus causing the tear outs that many people have seen. I have ran the Beaks kit with ITR rear sway bar on my 98 civic hb for 3+yrs and numerous HPDEs. good luck

I am running Buddy Club Racing spec suspension that I modified and am running 350lbs front 450lbs rear. But the sport spring rate will just not be stiff enough for that swaybar. I say maybe go with a 19mm from eibach/neuspeed good luck

I ran a Beaks kit with a 24mm Mugen bar with no problems. I tracked the car for a couple of years, autocross and road course, with Skunk2 coilovers (don't remember the rates, but they were pretty stiff) over Koni yellows. I also daily drove the car. It was an EM1, but that should be the same (or even thinner) subframe than an EK.
