Whats the Fuel Cut-off Point in a Prelude?!
the stock tach is off about 400 RPM in the upper range...the fuel cut-off is 7600 and the redline is 7400
Quaalude, your explanation is kinda confusing so I'll straighten it out a little.
when he says the tach is off he means the actual engine RPM is 7600 but the indicated RPM on the TACH would be 8000 RPM. Thats where the difference of 400-500 RPM is (8100 indicated versus 7600 actual). Personally I always make sure I say xxxx RPM (on the TACH), when talking bout shift methods to other Luders.
B18C1 DC2 R,
remember in the other thread how I kept saying 8000 (on the TACH)? I didn't want to go into the whole "actual and indicated RPM has a difference of 400 RPM" deal. The whole actual RPM thing tends to confuse a lot of people, but you can believe me when I say my car can rev to 8000 without fuel-cut...just like how you can believe me when I say I spanked all those GSR's and Si's
Just Kidding, B18C1 DC2 R I'm just messing with you.
if you were reading it on an aftermarket tach such as Autometer, fuel cutoff would be at 7600 rather than 8100. So don't try revving to 8100 if you have an aftermarket tach.
