Default Stroker H22 with JUN valvetrain and cams

http://www.pocketrocketsracing....html

Ok i posted this in the all motor forum and they said that i wont make any power at high rpms and that in order to fully utilize the long duration of the cams i would have to add 20mm or so to the block to accomidate the the long stroke. However Frank from pocket rockets who sells the BC stroker kit said they have done this plenty of cars and reved over 9.5k without any problems with that bottom end. He said with the JUN cams I would most likely reached peak whp at around 8k which according to him would be very good for a street motor. My question is has anyone else thought about doing this.... benefits/problems accociated with it ? Car will be a street/strip car not daily driven, just out on weekends pretty much.

i dont know what that 20mm garble is but theyre dead on with the jun cams, they will peak around 8k, depending on your bore/stroke and head

just know that you wont be able to rev 9500 rpm and have the motor hold up for a long time, it will require contant service, thats a lotta stroke and huge rpm

yeah typically strokers are not really meant to be revved that high... for example F1 engines run a HUGE bore with a very short stroke in order to achive 19,000rpm
a stroker gives ya more of the low end grunt... matched with a SC and the right compression might be something nice

Just checked out that site... expensive.

So that kit should work without any modifications to the block correct ? Typically how do these hold up, if i set the rev limit around 8.4-8.5k ?

if you buy the kit, tell frank what cams youre using and he'll give you a pretty good idea of what rpm range to use, the rest is up to your tuner
