Default Crx obd0-obd2 Alternator plug conversion questions.

Alternator died today... and want to use a new one i have which is obd2. I have a 91 ef8 crx and noticed it only uses 3 wires instead of 4 on the alternator plug. I was wondering if the newer obd2 alternators need that 4th wire or not? I did do a search but my wire colors are different then the regular 88-91 Civic/Crx colors. On my obd0 plug i have blue, red, and White/blue. On the obd-2 plug i have white/blue white/green, black/yellow and white/red. If anyone can lead me in the right direction that'll be great. Thank you.

Thought I'd document this because this is information that's hard to find.

Some alternators have 3pin connectors. some have 4.. colours are not always the same. Not sure why but this is what worked for me for a DPFI civic DX using a 4 pin alternator:

OBD0 --> OBD2
YEL --> WHT/RED
WHT/YEL --> WHT/GRN
BLK/YEL --> BLK/YEL
WHT/BLU --> WHT/BLU

I suggest that people try OBD2 alternators over OBD0 . Using used or rebuilt OBD0 alternators can be very frustrating as they never seem to last more than a year!

I use an OBD-1 alternator myself, but you have to take into consideration that OBD-0 pulleys have three ribs while the newer ones have 4.

Using belts with less ribs than one or more of the pulleys is no big deal. You just need to make sure that they are not misaligned.

The pulleys are interchangeable, correct?
