Spare tire well has water in it....
Anyone ever have issues with the drain pipes becoming clogged? (already did a search) I am finding a lot of water in my spare tire well, and cant quite figure out where it is coming from. This seems to be the only place for it to come as the hatch is sealed and there is no trace of water on the inside of the weather stripping. Also, in the hatch area, there are those little vents toward the bottom of the plastic panels near the back of the car, there is water on those vents as well. Like I said, the hatch appears to be sealed. I'm thinking the drainage pipes might be clogged and the water is just running down the sides of the pipes. If anyone has had a similar issue and has fixed it, let me know! Thanks guys...
Welcome to the world of EF’s the all leak lol!
I had the same issues; I drilled holes in my winter beater Si. But I fixed the issue with my summer EF. It was coming from the roof under the two plastic sills there was a pin hole causing water the leak down the side of the rear end making a puddle in the spare tire area.
Also had to seal up my rear tail lights, by using another grey foam gasket off a spare set of tail lights I had (doubled up
. They can also leak from the gas filler neck.
Honestly the best way to find it is to strip your interior (rear seats too) jump in the car with a flash light and have a buddy soak the car with a hose while you look for the leak.
I used gasket sealer and body sealer, the car never leaked again.

Excellent....it is the tail lights for sure! I popped those lil panels and saw where water was currently streaking due to the massive downpoor we just had. I'll seal them up and let ya'll know if theres anymore!

x2 they get clocked and cause water to end up in the trunk or floor. Mine is doing this but im too lazy to tear the interior out and fix it

Yup! I would get a ******* lake everytime it rained. I changed the tailight gaskets and sealed them with silicon. Never got another leak!

yep mine used to do the same thing (seemingly through the vents) but it was the tail lights. Got some new gaskets from honda a few weeks ago, put em in, and no more wet trunk for me =D. I might even put some carpet back in now...

I would stay away from silcon it can eat the gasket away, I've used it on my CRX also its a permanent seal. Use body sealer, or gasket sealer. . . . Just my .02
