DYNO PROVEN!BlackTrax H-Series Intake Manifold Spacer. Has anyone tried it???
Trending Topics
I believe there is a thread I just read talks about this and he had dynos to back it up that he made just about the same power as the stock intake manifold. I think Honda made a pretty decent intake manifold for the H22A power wise. I believe this unit could be very usefull for the fully built H22's...The theory and design is there...

so are u saying that it didnt really give any gains....unless u are heavily modded?

Correct me if I am wrong I believe the guy is talking about the same piece?
It does make sense...more air...cooler temps...more power...

holy crap... is this a dream. A high quality intake manifold for an h23. Are my eyes working correctly!? Im very interested in the stage 3. Maybe i'll buy it. Mate it with a bigger tb and a intake heat gasket spacer. This would be well worth considering the cams im running.

im willing to bet the untuned hondata vs the tuned hondata is what made the power.
Car had basically I/H/E untuned with hondata, then was tuned. taadaa
I vote everyone save their money for a nice custom header. That alone will yeild much more power and room for growth with your setup. ( doing cams later and retuning etc.. )
I love my IABs personally. Without some serious cams/compression removing them has no advantages and will only make your car feel like a dog daily driving.

Here is my $.02...the idea and design is there...more air=cooler air=more power...I see this working good on a built H22 swap...I don't see it working too efficient on a stock or similar stock engine...I love my IAB's as well...I believe honda did there homework and the stock intake manifold is good for power...I hook my IAB's (secondaries) to my vtec solenoid...with a vacuum solenoid with vacuum line going to the air boost valve, 2 wire connector 1 wire being ground other wire spliced into vtec solenoid...so when vtec hits my secondaries open...I liked the performance and outcome that it made...when vtec hit it surely made you slide back into the seat (especially in a CRX chassis
... JDM H22 184 whp at 6900 rpm and 158 ft lbs of torque @3200 rpm...the secondaries being closed creates more torque at a lesser rpm...

well of course they are going to make more power when its tuned. Thats the whole reason why you tune when you put something like that on or in you're engine. Its not like you'll make huge power gains untuned. My iab's don't work... i personally do not notice a difference with them or without them.

I have two of the spacers along with the stage 4 fully gutted/ported intake, but all i care about is volume, and compared to the stock manifold it has a **** load more space in there, and looks like it has just as much if not more volume than the venom/ge style manifolds. I dont have any numbers for it yet, but I am sure it will be a very good mod.
I do have the gutted stage 3 manifold w/ 2 plates. I have an Alaniz SM head, Jun cams, sri 3" intake w/ bpi stack, hytech headers, and Hondata. It took me a full 2 hours to tune to gain the 2hp up top. IMHO not worth the money, but maybe it will be beneficial to others w/ different mods. I also thought this would help w/ my new 2.3l motor, but seems like the results are the same. I would rather have put my money towards a euro r manifold.
Exactly my point. The 2 hours to tune plus the actual cost of the plate is not worth it for 2 hp.
I dont even see how this area has anything to do with heat soak. It would be where the manifold meets the head or the actual air intake. O well.

whoa....precord
you have a H22 or H23/22?
JUN Cams with what valvetrain?
Im looking at picking up the Stage 3 bored to 64mm with matching OEM bored TB with the Hondata heatshield gasket.
Ill have the entire JUN Head package with Supertech Flat Faced valves. I havent assembeled the head yet, would it be in the best interest to just get the plenium bored to match the TB and hone the runners and keep the IABs, or get the Stage 3. Im thinking that they just may well be the same, just one looks all prettied up with BlackTrax cut into the top.

I did have a jdm H22A, and recently switched blocks/engines to a JDM blue top H23A. Jun cams/valvesprings/sprockets/ and just swapped out my 80k mile Jun ti retainers for OEM retainers. Seems to me that the oem manifold is not quite as bad as people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Blacktrax IM will help some more than others. I just happen to fall into the other category.
