Will this motor bolt on/drop in to a 89 Civic engine bay without modding the engine mounts? thanks.

 

the ZC came in 1988-91 jdm civic si's yes it will bolt right in but you will need to modifly the wiring if you do not have a SI.

 

How difficult is it to modify the wiring? Does this motor only work with manual Civic?

 

Which model do you have??? I have seen ZCs swapped in both 5spd and automatic cars so it is possible in both.

 

EF Civic 4dr (1.5L) automatic. Just looking for a engine replacement when my stock engine goes out.

the zc wiring for non-si's isn't very tough, there's plenty of really good step by step instructions online all over the place. you should also be able to stick with your automatic transmission if you want to, all you need is an appropriate ecu.
