I have located translucent orange paint and will now be attempting to paint my clear lenses. Yesterday I found translucent smoke color and lightly dusted them so they wouldn't be so white and now that I found the orange I going over the smoke. I will post the results.

where do i get amber paint??!????? thanks ;]

 

I picked up the amber paint at Michaels, which is an arts and craft store here in Georgia. The paint is supposed to be used for stained glass projects.

 

ahh we got one of those here...i think imma hit that place up after work..they dont close till 10...

 

go to your nearest Wal-mart...go to the toy model section and ask for a small can of amber paint...

 

what brand is the paint?? krylon?. we have an arts and krafts store right across from out school, im gonna go there at lunch tomorrow if i get some time.

The lenses are painted and looking good. I taped off the edges to cover the black rubber and shot them with a few coats. The first one I was kinda worried about running the paint so I made sure to lightly dust which made it take about 7-8 coats before I got the color where I wanted it. But the light dusting made it sort of build up and gave it kind of a flat look but it will do. Better than white clear or half and half. So don't be to afraid when your shooting them but take your time. The second one took about 4 coats and its nice and shiny. And I also swapped out the bulbs for clear since the orange bulbs made it too dark.

 

does anybody have pics of the amber lenses on the car. I'd like to see how they look.

I think those are vision side mirrors, and they go for around $370 at Jdmhondaparts.com. That ain't my car guys just to let u know..

i did this a couple months ago and it turned out great...i put 2 coats on...the first one i dusted on so it would give something for the second coat to stick to...came out real good...got it from Michael's also.....good luck
