taking apart headlights?
i have a set of the black housing clear lense headlights from TYC... not rice btw, anyways, one of them got some condensation in it, and the bulb exploded, leaving some powdery stuff all over the chrome inside the light.....and when the city lights are on, it looks like crap...so im wondering if there is some way to take off the lens and clean them? any help would be great......thanks

if they are anything like stock, just bake them in the oven at 200 degrees for 10-15 min. then pry it apart and clean whatever needs to be cleaned. push it back together and return it to the oven for another 10 min. take it out and push it back together and if you want put some clear silicone around the edge to help seal it, however i didn't do this to my stock lights and never had a problem. hope this helps
thanks for that info, imma do it tommarrow, only question...do you think that the heat will mess up the lens, its just plastic, im kinda worried that it will start to bubble or melt...any info? they were 140 on egay, and i haven't seen them anymore...thanks again for the info

and it didn't hurt the lens? thats my main worry, they're TWC, so they're a pretty good brand, but they won't warranty them cuz i bought them from ebay

the oven won't hurt them if you keep an eye on them. 10-15 minutes is plenty. a friend of mine melted his with a heat gun so be careful if you do it that way.
