Honda Civic - Car locked, remote does not unlock it - Help

Hi,

My Honda Civic 97 EX got locked somehow on its own and the red light on the AM panel is blinking rapidly (as opposed to blinking slowly when normally locked with remote). The remote does not unlock it. What do I do to unlock it? Any help is appreciated.

sounds like the common problem on the 96+ Civics where the keyless entry system goes nuts.
try reprogramming the remote,and it should fix it.
