It's probably a decent autocrosser and probably would be fun on track days.

Forget about straight line. You most likely won't dump a $7000 used K20 swap into a $15k new car.

Yoiu can probably safely turbo the stock motor to 160-170hp, more than that and you're putting in all new internals--again, big $$$.

As said before--ideal for A to B, hauling stuff and getting good gas mileage.

it's only as fast as you make/think it is. racing is all about driver skill anyway.

The kind of racing that makes car guys car guys. You know, when you're young and can't afford much, and you get that inexpensive econobox? It's light, easy to toss around, zippy, and you can always push it to its limit because you can't get too much power out of it, so you are always at high RPMs?

It's the car that is fun enough to leave a lasting impression on you that affects you for life. Like the old school Datsun 510's or the EF or EH Civic Si's. Like that. Except it has a lot of interior room and gets good MPG

autocross is always fun. Your put into a class with similar cars, but judging by all of the magazine reviews the fit is the best handler in it's class.

Yea, except that statement came along with a bunch of rusty quarter panels. The new statement comes along with a bunch of peeling bumpers

psh... are you serious?!

don't race in the fit. it wasn't made for that. It goes 0 to 60 in about 9 seconds but thats just what i've heard from people. I've never tried it myself.

heh, race some other car in a long distance race. so when they have to stop for gas, you'll keep going

I bet the Fit will prove to be competitive in autocross...not as large scale as Spec Miata but it will probably become the entry vehicle of choice...

The Fit would be a fun AutoXer IMO. Even if you weren't competitive...everyone know that driver plays the biggest role in winning. I'm sure you could pull off a few local wins based on your competition.

Just as mentioned I think the Fit is best at hauling people, cargo and getting good gas mileage. There seems to be a lot of hardparkers buying them and turning them into show cars (not unlike most Hondas). Whatever floats your boat.
