Wrong. The insurance will pay his car off, along with the difference between value and amount of the loan, if he had gap insurance. The he has the option of buying it back from the insurance company.

Not nessecarily.
The insurance company will pay off his car loan. Along with the gap insurance if he had it, will cover the cost of the car loan. If he did not have gap, then he will be paying off the difference between the amount the car was worth at time of accident, and what he owes on it.
Example:
WITH GAP....
Car is worth 20,000
He owes 24,000. The insurance company will pay off the 20,000 on the cars VALUE. Then, the gap insurance will pay the other 4k.
NO GAP:
Car is worth 20,000
He owes 24,000. Insurance pays the 20,000 on the cars value to the loan company, and HE has to come up with the other 4k.
They are not going to give him any more than what the car is worth. They may replace the car, but he would still have to pay the loan on that one.

Okay i will be financing a decent amount of money on my si as well. I guess gap insurance would be a good thing to have. If i get gap insurance is it through my loan or my insurance company ?

You should think of it as a requirement when buying a vehicle from any dealer. New or used. It should run you about 200-500 depending on the state. But if I remember right NY state requires GAP on all purchases. Your dealer will know what they have to do to comply with state regs.

gap helps but think of it this way:
if the accident is the other dudes fault, you can negotiate with the person's insurance company and alot of times, especially with a newer car, will give you enough to pay off the loan, especially if you threat to sue

so not cool. i just wanna run up and snag the seats before the tow truck people screw em all up at the yard. never good to see another si bite the big one. im sure he'll get it all figured out and upgrade to the 07 with vsa and get it with everything he wants. things have a tendency to work out in the end. BUMP FOR THE SAFETY!

Why? The airbags are blown in them. Unless you can replace the airbags themselves, I think those seats are shot. The airbagshave to bust through the seams in the seats to deploy.

haha your sig is ******* awesome
but like it was said above, even if they were in good condition it belongs to the bank now, otherwise he'd have to buy it back from them and pay off the rest of the loan

95turbodteg have you got alot of compliments on your rallye red si as far as the color. i have also orderd a 07 rallye red si and would like to hear comments from rallye red owner's.
Sorry to hear about your car man. That really sucks. SI's are dropping like flies this year. I might want to put mine on blocks and leave it set there. At this rate 06 civics will become rare. lol
