B18C3?
I have done the research but still alittle lost.
I bought a 95 GSR and it has a B18c3 in it, the guy I bought it off of said he was told it was an ITR motor from Singaport or somewere overthere. It does have a PR3-4 head and ITR intake manifold on it. It also has an Orange vavle cover on it, and when I was doing alittle search on Google, I found a site that sold B18c3's from Sigaport that were GSR's (could tell by the intake manifold and black valve cover) and also had Type R motors( had ITR mani and orange valve cover on it) The man thing is that it need the lose motion assemblys replaced. I looked them up at work and the GSR and ITR are different art numbers. The only think I could think of why they are different part numbers are possible stiffness for the cams being alittle bigger.
To me, the motor pulls harder than my GSR that I owned, and i think its just alittle fast than the 97 R that I also owned.
Doesn't the ITR have dual valve springs on the inake and the exhaust? I can not tell at this time if it does. I will see when I pull the head off to inst the lose motion assembles.

As far as i was aware the B18C3 was an australian VTi-R motor (GSR) but if yours has a Pr3 head and ITR IM then its obviously not.
ITRs have dual valve springs on both intake and exhaust side.
There was a guy last week selling an imported 4dr integra in the UK, it had a B18C3 engine, which he claimed was a TypeR engine, however in the pic showing the B18C3 engine number you can just see the corner of the black valve cover, also the car is an auto and ITRs were never made in auto. The car also has 96spec wheels (and therefor brakes) but it has a 93-95 front end, 98spec rear bumper and is registered as a 99 car...so its a real mix and match of parts>>> Ebay

There was never an Integra GSR sold in the Uk or europe. Correct, the UK/Euro ITR uses the B18C6.

Here's another link stating the C3 is a 96 Spec R motor (at least in the JDM):

like mugenracer says, you'll have to look at the valve springs. also, if you have the ex./in. mani's off look for signs of mild head porting.
also, these threads may help with your identification questions:

A lot of people in my neck of the woods (Malaysia & Singapore) opt to swap out the GSR head for a B16A or Type R. This is mostly because they feel that the engine gets better response from the straight intake manifolds rather than the dual stage on the GSR. Old news i know. And of course if anything breaks down on the head B16A and Type R units, replacement parts are easier to find.
Who knows perhaps the previous owner swapped a whole Type R head on your B18C3 bottom end. You could have got yourself a real good deal. :D
All JDM B18Cs have no number rating. But there is a blue piece of metal that will describes the model - but that's only on the body of the car. Mine says B18C Type Si.
Look for a P72 or P73 stamp, those are dead giveaways for what model the engine is. There should be 1 on the head somewhere near the distributor, I THINK...

wow all the **** said about this engine got me dizzy,**** man! the internet says its an euro civic(the one that looks like a rover) engine with 170ps(gsr manifold), it says its the 95-98 itr used in japan, it says its the spoon engine code for an itr, it says its the itr replacement engine code(for when you purchase a new shortblock directly from honda), it says its the asian(taiwan, singapore, malaysian) itr engine, it also says its the asian gsr code. holly ****!
a couple of things I noticed were that the head in the above picture has a pr3 stamped above the 3rd exhaust port, the piston skirt has a coating just like an itr, I also came accross two guys online who had hands on experience with this motor and both stated it was an obd1, now there was an 95 itr sold, but it was only sold in japan and I always thought the j specs never ended with a 5th digit, I thought they were always like b16a,b18c,d15b and such...! someone please find the answer I need to be able to sleep!

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t=DSCF0002.jpg check this out, the guy bought an replacement engine from an importer with the an gsr head and b18c3 code.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/..._Half_Cut.html this is the only b18c3 I found for sale after a search on several search engines such as ebay, tradekey, alibaba and guess what a b18c3 coded engine on an asian gsr yet with an itr like valve cover and intake manifold?
I have to say its almost like a mix and match, several b18c3 engines with proof to be off of the sir-g's and other asian gsr's and several others with an identical look to an itr?

This is dumb, b18C3 is just a GSR motor, nothing more, nothing less.
Here is one I took apart years ago that was all OEM. Had a standard GSR head... look at pistons, standard P72-00 pistons

the picture above makes the case even worse, the pistons are cleary p72-00's, those are strictly jdm pistons yet the block is a b18c3, the funny thing is the jdm's never came with a 3rd digit, they were always marked b18c end of story?
The engine was probably stamped for foreign market use?
But to be completely honest they never sold Integra of the DC variety in Malaysia or Singapore. It was only available here via Grey importers (Imported new or 2nd hand from Japan).
Maybe it really is an Australian motor but built to JDM GSR specs?
