Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust - Feedback Wanted
I'm thinking about going with the Tanabe Touring Medallion on my Si. The Si is my daily driver (75 miles a day), so I'm looking for an exhaust that won't blow my ears away on the open road, but has a nice deep tone to it. I have a full 3" exhaust set-up on my 4.7L HO Jeep (Carsound hi-flow cat and a 70 Series Flowmaster) and it sounds great...... but does it resonate/drone out on the open road.....same with the dual 40's on my P71 Crown Vic.
I know that everyone seems to love the Greddy EVO2, but the big can thing is not me. I did run a single outlet EVO on my Accord for over 60k miles, before going back to stock when the can fell apart from the inside.....that's another reason why I won't give Greddy any of my business unless I have no other choice.
Seeing an '06 Si in my neck of the woods, let alone one with an after-market exhaust is pretty rare.........so I'll be buying an exhaust system without even hearing it.
Can anyone give me feedback on the Touring Medallion?
Thanks

I have it on my 06 si. This exhaust is very quiet, almost as quiet as stock just slightly deeper. It is somewhat louder outside the car but still hardly noticeable. It looks and fits great the quality is outstanding. I still have a cat on the car as well as a stock exhaust manifold. I would imagine with a race header or just a header the sound would be about perfect, but as of right now nobody makes a quality header.(not bashing on DC but I have had problems with there k-series header designs) We will just have to be patient. If you need any more info just let me know.
ive had a greddy for a long time and never had any problems....and never had a farty sound from it...it was always quiet until i hit WOT
however i really like the deep tone of the stock si exhuast so IMO i wouldnt change it.....however each to his own right

http://www.showstoppersusa.com all prices are shipped. i have the greddy evo2 exhaust and got it for $509 shipped. with the design of the k series, it is just quiet. it doesnt seem to matter what brand exhaust u have, it is just quiet. my friend has an 04 rsx-s with a greddy turbo and 3 inch piping all the way back it is is still extremely quiet. exhaust alone wont make it very loud, tack on the intake and header and u got a loud beast. if u want i can post another vid of mine. or search the forum and you'll find the first vid
I got my exhaust from the shop I work at to me the part is free but I think we get them for around $600. As for the youtube videos, my exhaust is not that loud. I am guessing he has a header on that car. Even with my Injen short ram intake that exhaust is very quiet.
