Default Door protectors

On my R, the original dealership put door protectors all along the edge of the two doors. It appears to be glued on. How can I remove this? Does anybody on here know? I have never seen anything like this, but hopefully I can get pictures up so everyone can know what I am talking about. The only reason I don't like it is because the protectors are not championship white. It is a brighter white so it stands out. (i decided to keep the OEM fogs on for those that resonded to my last post)

if it's from the factory and is the same as honda (pretty sure it is) you can just pull them off, they're pinched on. hopefully your paint won't be messed up under them

Since the car came from the dealership in 1998. Does anyone else know how to take these off. If not I might just bring it to a body shop.

Thanks Heretic:Si,

Did you have these door protectors on your civic? Or do you know anyone that has had them on a integra or civic? I am a little paranoid about pulling them off but may give it a shot. Like you said, I hope the paint is okay underneath and doesn't peel off as I try to pull them off. Still debating what to do.

It's just an Integra, don't be afraid of anything.

Just pull off the door protectors since you don't like the way they look. If the paint is messed up in the process, have the car painted.

That's really the only choice you have since you said you don't care for the way the door protectors look.

i agree with reid, I used to have the preotectors on a 240sx I owned....I just took them off and there was a little glue residue left behind but thats easy to remove, the paint was fine and that was a 91.. However I can see why you are hesitant, you have an R

i have installed and removed the door edge guards from many cars at the dealership. it's only scratched the paint on the ones that weren't oem edge guards, so from my experience if they are oem you should be fine. maybe heat them w/ a hairdryer to soften them up before pulling them off. good luck
