Default Valve cover

Im going to clean my valve cover today...is there anything i need to know when doing it. can i just take it off and let it soak in the tub....do you have any recomendations as far as cleaner...ie simple green, scotch pads stuff like that? if i remove it do i have to replace the gasket?

it would be better to replace ur gasket but its all on you. i used barb cleaner on my intakemanifold so i dont if you willing to try that. it clean it right up and the i put it in the a hot tank. jus my .02 cents
