Default side moldings

is there any way to get rid of my black side moldings on my crx? possibly paint them with a special kind of paint or something. i cant afford to take it to a body shop right now and get them removed but in time i will. is there anything i can do temporary? and how much do you think a shop would charge to take them off and make it look clean?

well i dont think you'd want to take them off because it would probably look bare without it. but an option you have is to paint it. thats what i did to mine. i painted mine all the way around the bottom. you can see that i skipped the upper molding, and maybe that is what you're talking about. that can be removed but you'll have to fill the holes with bondo, sand it, and paint it. then there will be an indentation left over. that is something a body shop would do also. anyways, here's what i did at school. about $100 in paint and my free labor:

if they look like **** and are really old you can buy a can of trim paint from auto zone or any parts store. Just scuff them up with a scotch pad to clean them up and shoot'em black.

They have this stuff called bumper coat in rattle can, it help sto adhere paint to the plastic/rubber surfaces. Coat with that then paint and it will be hard to chip and will stick. My paint guy told me that, and it works with interior pieces also or anything plastic at that.
They use the same type of stuff but in there paint guns before painting a car.
hope that helps
