Three slots?
I was under the impression that on the hybrid model that behind that is where they temperature gauge is for the auto climate control...
never looked much more into it than that

I was in my car last night, bored out of my mind, and just dreaming about doing work to it, and I noticed that little vent thing and was wondering what it was for too. Let me know when you guys get proof and what not.

You sure do like to ask questions, get answers from people and re ask them
if you are so inclined to ask questions like this, call honda and ask to speak to the designers of the vehicle...
but even after that, i'm sure you'd still question them

So I ripped apart an 06 Hybrid with navi today(PITA XM install) and checked out the three slots, definantly a cabin temp/humdity sensor. I then popped off the panel on my Si and no sensor... so like everyone speculated the dash configuration for all 06's is the same, auto CC have the sensors, rest dont. The three slots are merley for "decoration" in si's, ex, etc.
Sorry for the mis-information in my orig post.

Nah it can't be the Navi because those three slots are present on civic's equipped with normal radio also, and that piece of dash cover is a seperately designed piece compared to Navi equipped cars, Honda could've easily eliminated those three slots for Non-navi models. Besides, someone here already verified that it was the a/c sensor by actually tearing the dash apart.
