Default Head Light Cleaning-Need help!

I lucky to find some 5th gen. head lights at this junkyard for $150 ea. Wich is not bad because at the dealer they are $354.00 each. But they are a little dirty inside, one looks good but the other is a little more foggy looking.

What do you experts think is the best way to safley clean these babies?

are you sure the dirt is on the inside? I'd first try to wet-sand the lens with 2000 grit sandpaper and then go over it with Meguiar's Plast-X. Also I've heard you can use non-acetone nail polish remover to remove the haze, and again, follow with Plast-X. If the grime is on the inside, you'll have to take the lens off of the housing. To do so, I think you bake it in the oven for about 6 minutes or so at about 250. LOW TEMP!!!!! Make sure you dont leave it in too long, or it will melt. Then you push in all the tabs that hold the lens to the housing, and then take a crappy butterknife and work your way CAREFULLY around the seam prying loose the Honda glue that they put in there. Do this carefully, as when it's warm, it will be stringy and similar to a hot Mozzerella stick. The glue can stretch and get all over the headlight if you arent careful. Then the lens should be free. to reinstall, you get some type of sealant to seal the seam and reinstall the lens to the housing. I've never done this, but I read about it on a DIY projector retrofit thread. I suggest you search. Or pm prelude1897, he does retrofits. He'd know better than me. But yeah, clean the outside up first. It may solve your problem.

how did they turn out? Did you wet sand and buff, or use the nail polish remover? Just curious
