Most 81mm gaskets measure out at 81.25mm so use an 81

Yeah most OEM gasket are bored to 81.5mm even no-name OEM style ones on ebay.

I f---ed up the wall on my freshly bored block so It had to be bored out to 82mm and I was forced to buy a golden eagle 82mm headgakaset. Gay.

Honestly, does it really matter if your head gasket is smaller than your bore? 99% of all big bore motors on this forum are using heads with stock sized head chambers anyways. ie 84mm B18 with stock 81mm head. The piston top is below the deck at TDC so would it make a difference if a stock head gasket was used on a big bore block?

You really don't want the head gasket exposed to the heat of the combustion chamber if you can help it. That can cause a potential hot spot for the chamber that could lead to a head gasket failure.

So the inside diameter will melt itself to the right size automatically. lol
