2 JL 12W6v2's?
Do you guys really think that's a good idea? I was thinking on buying about 2 of them, but I never really met anyone who actually has one. That's why I'm wondering if it's really worth buying 2 JL 12W6v2. Or are those speakers really used for just for bass? I'm not really looking for like super bass, I'm looking for more of a crystal clear sound.

Those "speakers" that you are referring to are subwoofers. And yes, subwoofers are used "just for bass." Is it a good idea to get those? That would depend on what you're trying to do.
"Crystal clear sound" doesn't just depend on subwoofers. It depends on all your audio components (all speakers, headunit, amps). You need to be more specific with what you are trying to achieve. Crystal clear bass is a whole different story.

What car? JL 10's hit harder than anything ive ever heard...JL 12's have tramendouse sound quality. Subs are generally for bass no mid or high notes. I know that if you buy one JL sw7 in a 10 or 12 plus the amp to power it you will not be disapointed.

Agreed...crystal clear sound required mids, highs, and lows for a good system. Proper placement, power, tuning, you cant just hook up some speakers and have a crystal clear system.

Ahh, so I see. Well I have a rockford fosgate amplifier it's 2 channels. The head unit is a kenwood, and I have good wiring, I guess all I really need now is speakers. The wiring was bought from bestbuys, it said it can hold up to 800 - 1000 watts or so. So, I guess I should buy one sub for the bass. What should I do for the sound? The subs are gonna be in and out of a EK hatch.

There is no way that you're going to get "crystal clear sound" with this setup, unless your definition of crystal clear sound is different than mine. To me, crystal clear sound means reproducing all the frequencies cleanly by integrating subs/mids/tweets. If you set up your system with the subs in the car, it will sound good, but when you take the subs out, you will get no bass. You could cheat and have your mids play bass too (so when you remove your subs, you will still get bass), but that would be difficult to set up properly. With the subs in the car, you would get too much bass, or you wouldn't be able to hear the subs at all (depending on how you set it up).
If changing bass levels every time the subs go in/out fits your definition of crystal clear sound, then proceed.

Yeah, my amplifier has that ability. So basically, one sub for bass, and another for sound? Why not have both speakers play bass. Balance it out. So what kind of setup should I get? I dont really want to get great quality bass & sound. But not really eating up my room inside my car. EK's dont have that much trunk space and I may need it to run errands for my parents.
Do you guys think it's a bad idea if I tear grey box area and put some speakers we're the EK compnent speaker went? (The grey shaded box in the corner trunk)
Or can I have 2 12W6v2's one for bass and one for sound? Sorry, I'm really new to this stuff.

You can either aim for maximum loudness or sound quality (in bass frequencies). Doing both at the same time isn't easy. And what do you mean by one for bass and one for sound? Bass is sound. Maybe you mean sound quality...

First you say you want crystal clear sound, and now you say you dont want crystal clear sound. Make up your mind.
First of all, you need to make up your mind and tell us what you want out of your system. Asking if getting 2 12s is a good idea is the worst question you can ask. I'll help you out a little bit.
What do you want to accomplish?
Do you just want to add some more bass to your system?
Do you want to replace all your speakers or just add subs?
You said you wanted to replace your stock speakers. Why?
Are you aiming for great sound quality or loudness?
This should get us started.

What are the model numbers of the HU and amp? What is in the car now, [speakers, how many, what kind]?
You have an amp and a HU, you may only need a sub(s), it all depends on what you want out of the system, also what subs you use will depend on the amp you have.

By ability I ment it came with a remote to control the raise or lower the bass. By sound I actually ment one for the actual music.
Why not just buy 2 12W16v2's and have them equal bass & mid & high & low?
The headunit is Kenwood KDC-MP332
The amplifier is Rockford-Punch 1275W Class AB Bridgeable 2-Channel Amplifier with Variable Crossovers-P850.2
No speakers yet, the previous owner took all the speakers from my car.
I'm thinking just add 2 small speakers on the side doors, and 2 12" speakers in the back. Maybe just 1 really good one cus it is a small car.

The amp would only be powering the subs. So when the subs come out of the car, adjusting the amp will make no difference.

If you're not looking for crazy, hear me a few blocks away bass, then 2 12s is overkill.

LOL, What I'm looking for is somewhat crystal sound, but with alittle more bass to get a nice feel going you know. Alright so I'll get 1 12" for the trunk. What kind of speakers do you recommend for crystal clear sound?
Btw, I appreciate the help thanks man.

Why not start with 2 or 4 Eclipse 6.5" speakers... http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6500.html
Your amp is 1x850W into 4 ohms, so get 2 10W6v2... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod..._id=6 use the R/F amp to drive them, and for best sound get a JL Audio 300/4 to drive the 6.5" Eclipse point source in the front doors and find a set of mid-range/mid bass drivers for the rear, [I use a set of Eclipse 6.5" 2ways with the tweeter disabled]
System, [if installed properly] should be very clear with more then enough sub bass, SQ overall will be clean and tight.
If you want to start with just the front speakers, you don't need an amp to run them, the HU will drive them OK although an amp will make a huge diff., you can always add an amp later if you feel you need to.
If you deff. do not want to use an off board amp for the front speakers, get the Eclipse 6.5" 3ways.. http://www.eclipse-web.com/integrated/se8365.html
Because you have 850W of power for your subs, you really need more then the 4x50W max, [4x22W RMS] the HU has, to get a good balance between high-pass and low-pass.

Damn, I'm digging your setup. The problem is, I just tried installing some speakers on my door. It doesn't really fit at all. The wiring is alittle messy. But yeah we got it in but it isn't bolted down at all. These speakers are only weak *** speakers. They get staticy when I put it really loud.
Is there a way for like one subwoofer for the trunk, I'm trying to save me trunk space.

Do you guys know how to add more equalizer presets into my HU? Also, for the HU I'm not sure if I'm getting a second amplifier for the speakers. I'm pretty sure I'm getting 4 speakers though 2 for the door 2 for the rear. And one sub for the trunk. I'll hook the sub to my r/f.
I'll probably go for the eclipse.
Or is that a bad idea?

Yes you can use just one sub, wire the VCs in series for an 8 ohm load, amp should produce 425W RMS into an 8 ohm load, and sound pretty good.
Go with the Eclipse, if you don't want to add a second amp use the 6.5" 3ways, and disable the tweeters and "super" tweeters on the rear speakers, they will only mess up the imaging and staging.
Don't forget the SQ you get will depend a lot on the install of the speakers, [whatever kind they are] a Hu will sound the same mounted in the dash properly or sitting on the seat, [as long as it's wired properly] however an improperly installed speaker, [even a very expensive one] will sound like kaka if not installed properly, it's all in the install.
I have an Alpine HU and 4 Eclipse 6.5" 2ways, [tweeters disabled on the rears] in my 94LS, no off board amps and no subs, SQ is great, including bass response, to the point of some people accusing me of having an amp ans sub hidden someplace in the car, I do not, however I spent a lot of time and enargy installing the speakers, the fronts ar mounted to custom MDF speaker housings, [replacing the stock plastic ones, and extensive Dynamating was done to the doors, the rear speakers are mounted in custom MDF and fiberglass cabinets, there is also Dynamating in the rear, both sets of speakers are in the stock locations and behind stock grills and use stock speaker wiring, as for the HU it uses all stock wiring other then the constant power lead, [I have a fused lead running from the batt. pos. to behind the HU and the HUs constant, [yellow] is connected to it.

Stock wiring? Hmm, how exactly is "good" wiring? No eletrical tape everywhere, everything looks clean?..anything else? It's just the wires to connect the speakers are shitty. The previous owner pratically just tore his speaker off. I'm not sure what the plastic object is called surrounding the tip of the wire to plug into the speaker is called. I'll have to ask my dad to get me some of those.
By the way, is there any site to find NEW wiring? The wires are pretty beat up and short, there's hardly any room to wire it. Or should I just cut the wire, connect a longer wire to it?
Oh and do you sure that 6 1/2 will fit fine on my doors?
I'm looking around for eclispe speakers, I see a few only around ebay. Any other places?

If you plan on powering the speakers with your HU the the stock wire will be fine, if it is too short use a short piece of the wire that comes with the speakers you get, [the end that plugs into the speaker] solder and shrink tube that wire to the stock wires so they are long enough to properly reach the speakers, [don't forget, solder and shrink tube, the inside of your door is NOT always a dry environment.

Honda EK9 1997. I SO KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING! Lol, I was trying to find the wire for the left side of my door. And guess what? I couldn't find the second wire & I STILL CANT! As I stuck my hand in there looking for it, my hand came out black & wet.
I'm still not sure how to configure the SQ, I've read the manual. I don't really want to clog up my dashboard with a equalizer. My kenwood only has the maximum volume of 35. Any idea if I can increase it?
