I jumped a turn tonight and now motor rips!!!??!
hey I have a 4 door 92 civic w/ b18b with I/h/e stage 3 clutch and aftermarket flywheel. it has no p/s or a/c its pretty quick. I have gsr suspension front and back w/ discs and skunk2 coils and camber kit. I lowed it about 2' in the front and 2'1/2 in the back. But anyways last night i was doing some spirited driving and took a corner way to fast and caught air off this rise on a craze back road. I bottomed out hardcore and heard loud metal scrapes up front. At a wawa i pulled over and checked for any oil or coolant leaks. I did manage to rip off half of my lip. Engine was good except a homemade heatshield was rattling even louder under 5k. To my suprise the motor ripped. Even faster than it was before its like i rattled the bolts and bearings into more hp. WTF!? I couldent stop cracking up on the drive home. Anyone have any opinions on this freak

WTF?
So my brand new car, that has run perfect without a problem is about to blow up? Ok. Ill stop laughing at you when that happens. You need to get your head out of your ***. Hondas are one of the, if not THE most reliable cars on the road.

since the backs sit up higher than the front, yes I am sure he did it on purpose.

could have maybe unclocked a blockage somewhere producing more air/fuel flow to a certain part that was getting denied its allowed usage before.. just my .02

just keep an eye out and make sure there are no leaks it may take a day or 2, but other than that just enjoy ur car being a lil bit faster..and if it was for a honda running perfect and blowin afterwards then no one would have one...and man dont abuse ur investment remember u drive it and im sure u dont wanna crash it....

Ok, there is no resonable or logical explination as to why your car would be ANY faster than it was before.
Your brain has ALOT to do with how "fast" you feel your accelerating. Just like driving a fast car over a period of time, doesnt "feel" as fast anymore, even though its just as fast.
Its all in your head.

ok Mr. Serious what do you think from your extra knowledgeable bag of Honda Theories could be wrong with this vehicles performance. and BTW Dumbass you drive a brand new car he dosent....
is your car loud now. maybe you cracked ur header or dislodged the cat from the header and now it sounds really loud and you think it is like 40 more hp

Actually, its the opposite.
Back when i had my turbo b16, i would usually run her on the street with the stock exhaust. I had an electic e-cut out right after the downpipe. When i would floor her and she was running through the stock exhaust, she "felt" faster. When i would run her with the open exhaust, she "felt" slower. When you hear something super loud your brain is expecting to feel something super fast, so you over do it and end up feeling like your not accelerating as fast as your brain thinks you should be.

well fmr projects takes the gold. When i said the heatshield was rattling loud it was actually an exhaust leak at the header. The header hit the road and literally knocked some of the nuts loose on the head. One stud broke off. There was a crazy exhaust leak and in the next couple of days the car got louder when the nuts loosend more. I was getting more power and craze back fires. So i re tightened all the bolts and now its slow and quiet again
haha

I disagree with you loosing power with a cutout especially with a turbo your car probobly was a little slower when the cutout was open when ur under 4k, but after that the thing should have ripped. I can feel the difference in power when I have a full tank of gass virsus a 1/4 tank. Loud car or quiet ur ability to feel acceleration is not with your ear but how u feel the car pulling.

well my theory is that....
you were driving like an *******, for quite a while probably... then shut your car off
when you turned it back on, the temperature and barometric pressure from when you started it the first time probably changed, and since you had shut the car off, the pcm was now able to take different readings and compensate for the changes better.
but yeah it's probably in your head
