Default Raceline 98 ITR

Was over at this spot today for a photoshoot, and saw this in the front. It was published some time ago. The owner won some races with it.

Has a full roll cage
J's CF Spoiler
Spoon Mirrors
Spoon Calipers
Mugen Seat
Blitz gauges
Mugen Shift ****
Koyo Radiator
Zeal suspension

Didn't get to see the engine bay so I don't know what it had.

The also had a 1st gen Mugen Spoiler laying around in the shop. Would like to get my hands on that.

ok stupid question.....the front wheels had OEM wheels and the tires were smaller than the rears. The rears obviously has different wheels....but beefier tires than the front. The stupid Q is....is this teg RWD converted?

The rear wheels are lightweight Weld wheels. They are normally seen on the back of drag cars. I would suspect that those wheels are used in the rear for both land speed and drag racing purposes.

The car is still FWD with a turbocharged B18 AFAIK.

The front wheels look large, like they are NSX rims perhaps?

no, they definitely look bigger than the stock 15" itr wheels, definitely powdercoated NSX wheels up front.

Yes, Stock ITR wheels. The spoon calipers look like a tight fit on there too.

Thanks for the correction.

I remember it was running 11 second quarter miles with a turbocharged B18. I wonder what kind of power it's making now.

this is from their website.

B18C Block – Civic type R .25mm over-size pistons
B16A Head – Jun valve springs, Jun stage 4 camshaft, Jun cam sprockets
AEBS intake manifold
Spoon throttle body
BLITZ 534cc injectors
BLITZ NUR spec R muffler w/ custom 80mm piping
Toda light-weight flywheel
ACT clutch
ATS 4.928 final drive circuit spec
KAAZ 1.5 way LSD
ZEAL super function coil-over
RACING HART CP-035 – 15”x7.5” +40 front, 15”x 6.5” +45 rear
198whp @ 8500 rpm
9800 rpm redline
Apex Power FC engine management

but the site hasnt been updated since 2004. so i have no idea what the setup is or how much power its making now.

As far as this stuff goes, it looks like it has TWM ITB's with a custom plenum.

Elton Lo is a good friend of mine. His 1997 ITR is built for all purpose. He has 2 motors dialed in for the chassis. One, is a 2.0L fully built B18C with custom ITBs to run with his own turbo setup. That setup makes about 650 whp tuned himself with a Apex Power FC. He holds the world record for being the fastest unibody Honda (no body modifcations) to run over 200 mph. The car also does mid to high 10s in the quarter mile and won a BOTI event last year. The second motor was built just for the Super Street Time Attack. Its basically a 2.0L hi-comp race motor that makes 230 whp and runs only on race gas. Built and tuned everything himself.
