Default hazy head lights...

my headlights are all foggy n stuff. I used this polish stuff n it took it away but as soon as they got wet they fogged back up again.. I dont wanna keep buying this stuff to keep them clear. Is there a wayI could keep them clear after I got them clear? Like would putting a clear coat over it be ok or would that hurt them?

Is the haze coming from outside of the headlights or from the inside? If, from the inside you would have to buy some clear silicone and seal the top of the headlights.

sorry it took so long to reply... but uhh yeah it's on the outside. I used this plastic polish err sumthin n it took it away but as soon as you wash your car the stuff gets cleaned off (I'm assuming) n then the hazy yellow-ness comes back slowly but it seems to jus get worse. it's kinda annoying.

You might want to try using a light grit rubbing compound. McQuires is the stuff I use with a buffing wheel.

I've never had that problem on a honda, but on my laser the same thing happend to the headlight

I used a Turtle Wax rubbing compound and then i used Meguiars PlastX plastic polish

Worked pretty good, If u take the time and do it, it will come out really good

I've seen people resurface the headlights with super fine wet sand and a buffer. I don't know exactly how to do it but i know you can do it with a wet sand.

You need to hit that thing with a porter-cable random orbital with a cutting pad and some heavy polish. Then finish with a light-cut pad and lighter polish.

You can have like-new headlights after this process. Check the detail forum.

i hate that thing, probably because i can't get it to work

there's a coating on the surface that keep it from getting fogged up, if you sand/polish the lens, you will remove the coating.

you can wax it all you want but if you really want to get rid of it for good, use a light coat of clearcoat

i used to be a detailer at a honda dealership and the most cars that had them were civics and accords. the 96-2000 civics and 94-2002 accords. thats sun damage happening to the headlights. the headlights have a clear coat on them when hey are bran new and i wax my headlights around once every two weeks. When ever this sun damage would occure i would wet sad the head lights then i would buff them and they cam out looking brand new..
