Used ITR Prices...searched.
Ok so there is an R I'm looking at. I'm new to R's and want to see if the price is decent or not. Cars is stock.
EDIT: CAR IS AT AN ACURA DEALER
1998 CW ITR: 49k miles 20,000
Bluebook doesnt tell me much because ITR's are getting more rare...so I'm coming to the experts.

Seems high.
Check http://www.itrca.com classified section and you can get a handle on the price ranges/years.

if it's through a private seller, that's probably spot on. but you have to account for the dealership wanting to make profit. it'll a few thousand more from the dealership.

What i did when i found the R i wanted and needed to verify the price was i went to a bank and had them run a loan value. The loan value is 80% of the cars actual value (kinda like what KBB does) so all you have to do is take the price they gave you, multiply by 5/4, and there is the cars street value. Take into account tho that especially for low mileage, well taken care of ITRs youll prolly have to pay extra due to their rareness. I wouldnt go any more then $1000 over tho unless the thing is straight up mint with original parts and service records. Good luck with ure search and everyone will vouch, the R is worth every penny.

If the 98 is in amazing/excellent/minty shape with only 50K miles then IMO keeping in mind the car is for sale at a dealer the price is not that bad. Remember...the value of the car is set by the individual making the purchase.
That seems high to me. Taking into account that it's for sale at a dealer, and assuming that it's in pristine condition - every seller says this, but it's often not true - then I would say $17,000-18,500 is a fair price. Not $20,000.
Was this $20,000 price something they wrote on the car, or is this what they told you after realizing you might be serious? Dealers often post ridiculously high prices on the car, but are willing to negotiate downwards. If you're serious, the trick, of course, is to try to negotiate them downwards as much as possible. Let them know that you're a serious buyer; you can do this by making a counter-offer for the low side of what you would be willing to pay (but don't make it so low that it seems like you're a lowballer).
