Default Drag strip times without running open header.

Ran the car today at the strip with the exhaust hooked up and the passenger seat in. Track temp was around the mid 80's with 90% humidity (felt like 150 degrees).

60'......2.35 (crappy I know)
1/4mi....14.4@95mph

They closed the track early so I didn't get many runs and the temp never dropped. Nice to know that my car still runs good with the exhaust hooked up.

Your car makes 159 whp, you get a 2.3 60 ft...and still manage to pull off a 14.4? WTF?!

Weird, but what type of dyno was it? Maybe it just reads low.

Sorry guys I mad a MISTAKE. My 60' time was a 2.29, didn't have the slip with me and I knew that sounded almost impossible, but still a 2.29 isn't great.

That was a bad launch chieftain. If you can bring down my best of 2.15 significantly I would love to hear how.

nice time. Can anyone recommend a good method of getting good 60 ft times. I am having a hard time breaking 2.4-2.5 60's, its terrrible actually. Any info would be appreciated. How do you guys launch when you pull of 2.1 or lower 60 footers ?. What tires are being used, what tires are recommended ?, and all that good stuff. thanks

I run Potenza SO-3's at about 22-24psi. Keep the revs up high but learn to work the throttle. I use drop clutch and ride clutch methods. Riding the clutch isn't as consistent but it yields the best results. Don't ride it long just for a brief second. The hard part is making yourself actually ride it while your at the light. You are so pumped up and seeing the other guy go can make you just want to dump it. Don't worry about the other guy. Just keep telling yourself to ride it. Hope this helps.

What size S-03s are you using? If you're using 195/50/15 then you're effectively increasing your final drive which would also contribute to quicker quarter mile times.

How do you like the SO-3's for straight line traction at the 1/4 mile ?, do you find them grippy enough ?. I am getting the Bridgestone RE730's this week , my stock tires are totally trash at the 1/4 mile track (Michelin XGT junk) so I was hoping the RE730's would be a step up. I need something that I can use at the 1/4 mile track and occassional track day. I am hoping they will be fairly grippy similar to the SO-3's . Any feedback would be great. thanks.
