Default Is it hard to get into autocross

I am really interested in geting in to autocross I was just woundering if it is hard to get into and what is the bestway to get into it. I live in So. Cal

Its pretty easy: just show up and drive for the first year. Worry about everything else later.

Though it be even better if you read the stickies at the top of the forum....

Yes it's easy, just show up!

Make sure your car is good shape, with decent tire pressure, brake fluid, and that your battery is securely mounted.

About the only other thing is a helmet. You can borrow one and it might fit.

bring your car, a valid driver's license, and $20 and ou can get into autocrossing - to find events you can start at http://www.myautoevents.com and then ask around at the event for other clubs that run local events that may not me listed on MAE

Here in So. Cal., you can't get in for $20. Visitors pays something like $35. The original poster should go to our region's site to get more info. http://www.solo2.com

in socal the cost is $35. there is an autoX event coming up sept. 17th if you would like to come. bring $35 and you will get 3 runs plus an instructor run. the event will be held at California Speedway in Fontana.

ya it may loook intimidating at first... but dont be scared walk in with your head up haha...

best way to learn too is do your first event at a car control clinic or autox school .. or one of those evo schools...

Not too many SCCA events are $20 anymore...even for members.

Still cheap, but the "per minute" is through the roof
