Default advice? on rebuild?

i have a h22a4 in my civic that was knocking and then siezed on me.
i saw silver flakes in the oil.
i already replaced it with another h22.
i was wondering is it worth rebuilding, and what are my options
im not trying to spend alot of money.

and does anyone have a rebuild write up. or a helms pdf link

No it doesnt matter how much it cost. On a rebuild its totally up to the person building as it is a person opinion thing. I could easily say get 14:1 CP pistons with a 2mm overbore sleeve from benson with Eagle Rods, ACL bearings, Benson Micropolish/Balance crank, JG port and polish head with Supertech valves/springs/retainers and a mill to up the compression. I would also say get a custom intake manifold made with a RMF/SMSP/Burnsstainless/AN-R header.

Now thats an extreme all motor set up. Do you think you would do it? Probably not but thats what i would suggest, go big or go home.

Just rebuild it with OEM stuff and leave it at that then.

you can build a good motor with almost all oem parts. i dont know much about h's, but my all motor d build is going to be about 90 percent oem stuff and running 2 points over stock compression.
