Default Mini-Me A6block/Y8 head questions

Ok so we are building a Turbo SOHC D series. Ive been searching on HT an came across alot of threads but some people seem to be divided on some issues so i decided to make another thread.

Heres the setup:
D16A6 Block
CP Pistons 9:1
D16Y8 Head

Now, some people say to run the 92-95 Civic Timing belt, others say run the timing belt that matches the head. Some people say the Y8 and Z6 timing belts are on the loose side? anyone have a DEFINITE answer?

What Headgasket is PREFERRED. ive heard some say the z6 is the best, but the y8 is thinner?

Whats this issue about the y8 timing? Does the y8 throw the cam timing off on a D16a6?

Cliffs:
What timing belt for D16a6 with Y8 head?
What water Pump for D16a6 with Y8 head?
What headgasket for D16a6 with y8 head?

thanks in advance

y8 timing belt, a6 water pump, y8 headgasket.

That's my setup at least.

People say the Y8 belt is too tight. I keep reading that the DX timing belt is a better choice.

Thanks though

you guys runnign the Y8 distributor or the a6. Ill be converting this EF to OBD1, so i figured you would run the y8 dizzy pinned to OBD1.

damn this **** gets confusing lOL

I'm running a obd1 non-vtec dizzy (1.5L) on mine. The only odd-ball distributor is the z6 it seems.

If all you're doing is engaging vtec without the proper ecu, you're wasting your time. Trust me. I ran obd0 for a year before finally going obd1. Car is day and night different. Picked up about 5 tenths at the drag strip and that was the only mod done between the 2 trips (actually picked up 7 tenths but i'm sure driver/weather had something to do with a couple of them )
