cool speaker, Not something that you would want to use everyday. I seen it and heard it. it cool. Price is hefty if you want to use it. Here's a break down. That sub=$840 plus tax depending on were you go and thats for a 12. Enclouser $100-400 depending on were you go. Amp that can power that-the 12 takes 2500 watts rms- Figure a good amp is about $1 a watt, so $1500-$3000. Now we have to upgrade the charging system and add a extra battery $400-800. Now is it worth it...... Hell yea. Would I reccommend it...... If you have deep pockets. But its up to you on how to spend your money. For what you will spend on that sub alone you could build one hell of a thumper and still have money to put gas in your car to show it off. You could build a moderate system for less then half of that cost.

Way overpriced. I got an AV15 (15 inch), 500 watts rms (easily handles 1 kw), 46 mm xmax, 93 db sensitivity (compared to 84 of the stroker pro), brand new for under 200 ($840 for an inferior sub?). The AV15 does not need more than 1kw of power to push it to the max (compared to 2500). I don't see a point in spending money on low sensitivity subs with high power handling such as the stroker pro. And as wrxkiller said, then you also need to spend money on the charging system and huge amps. To me, it's not worth it.

To be honest The only thing I like about it is that its rebuildable. I wish more subs were like that. But then again it would make speakers more expensive.

Ive built SPL boxes before. when I was back in high school I was into that crap (i dont know why) I had a box that was somewhere around 50^3 and 4 12s. best part about it was is was in a 98' Suzuki Sidekick! god that car sucked... now days im just looking for Sound-Q to the utmost.
a buddy of mine has a MTX-8512 in a 1.25^3 sealed box powered on a JL500/1 amp. so I do want Sound-Q but I want mine to be louder then his. I was going to go with a type X 12 then I thought perhaps a W7 but i hate spending so much money on a car that I can only drive 4 or 5 months out of the year. what other options can you guys see for me? I could go with a 15, but what about sound Q?

You can always dynamat your car and gain considerable dB. I hear some people get upto 9 dB increase, but that will make it quiter on the outside of the car...if you care to impress bypassers. Make sure your box is the proper size for the maximum output possible. Download a box designing program "WinISD", learn how to use it, punch in sub specs, and it gives you the SPL output of a sub in a box size of your choice (on paper though)..as well as the frequency response, which tells you how good the sub will sound (on paper again). Or just get an RE Audio 12" XXX sub...it's 1600 wrms (32mm Xmax)...I'm sure it will swallow his MTX and then burp. Even 2 Kappas will do, but now we're going to multiple subs...

With the factory spec mtx ported box. It plays every tone accurate. This sub can get nasty bass when turned up. I was design to compete with the w7. And it does it job. On a side to side comparision with a 12 w7 and 12-9500 in there given box the mtx was louder. Both test were in a 01 itr with a jl 1000/1. both were in there company high output box. The jl to me sounded better when it played rock music. The mtx slightly fell out on it but came thru. Both pounded hard to everything else rap, classic. I'll try to find the meter slipps if i still have them. You can't go wrong with either.
