b16 CRX'S SLOW???? POST YOUR TIMES!!!
low 14's is pretty standard for just a fairly basic swap.
there is this guy local that HAD a b16 built for nos with a 250 shot that runs a 12.01
so pretty much and 11 with the right driver or even new spark pugs and 5w oil.
oh and also its a 4door civic. now he has a turbo gsr and runs good 11's.
thats a fast import.

your b16 rex should be putting you in the 14-5 to 14-8 with good driver.
Mine is fast but it cant keep up with my lude on the highway, but off the line the rex gets it, Cuz of weight advantage!!!

Low 14's from just a basic 1st-gen B16A swap?
Nope.
I'm sure there may be exceptions to the rule, but in most cases it's mid-to-high 14's and LOW 15's too.
The quickest one I've seen in my area ran a 14.7. It's a 1st-gen B16A in a 1989 CR-X Si. Car had just normal bolt-ons. Oh it also had a J1 tranny with a Kaaz LSD in it - so it was the best possible geared tranny (same as JDM S1 also
) so the formula was good for the 1/4 mile. This was on street tires and little to none weight reduction.
I'm not saying 14.7 is the best time you can expect, but blurting out "low 14's easy" is just not realistic. You would have to do more to net low 14's on street tires especially.

My brother pulled a 14.8 last year with stock exhaust, stock cams, stock exhaust manifold, stock intake. It had stripped interior and no passenger seat. That's it. Oh it had plug wires... like those do much.
So far, my best is a 15.466...This was on 17's though with a whole mess of problems (timing out, valves needing to be adjusted, and stock b16a). I am going back this week expecting high 14's...I'm not the BEST driver in the world, so that's not helping my times any. I like my enigne, it just needs some more torque and I would be really happy.

The guy I was talking about pulled consistent 15.1 on his old all-motor D16A6. He lives 30 minutes from a strip and is an excellent driver.
I still say low 14's on a stock B16A swap is far-fetched unless you have some MAJOR weight redux and slicks in effect.

Oh yeah and 14 seconds in a CRX/Civic hatch is damn fast. Youll never hit low14's unless you have forced induction or internal work etc. Mine old one was ported/polished/shaved and Truboed and I cant get into 13's
BNut the previous owner had no fuel managment so she went booooom!! hehe now im building another one

I went 14.72 in a full interior civic si with a b16a with y1 tranny. With just an intake and exhaust. I wish I would of did more to it. Now it's gone. And it's time for me to boost the hell out of this built b18a I have.
Yeah boost is fun on my old d16a6 the previous owner put 3" Boost piping thinking it would be better for some dumb reason. So you got a wholee lot of lkagggggg. Kinda like VTEC kicking in no wait thats the turbo !!
hehe

was this that one light blue 4-door? he ran an 11.7 or something at pacific raceway in aug 2000... got his *** on video
IN my town theres a blue civic EF hatch an 90 i believe. His name is jeff. He runs low 11's and hits 10's sometimes. He has stripped interior and a CRVTEC Turbo under the hood rolling on 17" rims that only weight 12 lbs. Rims alone are worth 4000 hehe
