STI HID retrofit into eg headlights?
im very new to the HID thing. I do have a pair of 04 STI headlights laying around with ballasts. They do not appear to have projectors in the housing though. I was wondering what i would have to do to make thme work in an eg with stock headlights. Has anyone ever used the STI HIDS? TIA
I can't verify if they do or dont have projectors as I'm not that familiar with the headlights themselves, but you could always buy some projectors on Ebay for around 100 - 150 bucs and retrofit them in.
I wouldnt recommend just slapping the HIDs into your housings, even with a shield. There will be glare that might not bother other cars (if your car is significantly lowered) but will bother other cars that are low to the ground.
My opinion: Do it right the first time with a HID projector retrofit and call it a day. Dont do it like me and say "hey I need to do a projector retrofit" everytime you turn on your headlights.

i would suggest not to do that. because the STi uses a D2R reflector HID setup. so it wouldnt be good in the EG housing. it would make alot of glare
go on ebay and buy some new CLEAR housings and buy some HID projectors.. then put the bulbs and ballast in then you have a qaulity retrofit with great output.
