Car starts weird in cool weather.
Ok, in warm hot weather, my 1991 CRX starts fine. I re-soldered the main relay and it starts great in hot weather.
When the temperatures dip a bit over night, I go out to my car in the morning and it starts funny.
basically, the car turns over no problem, and it starts. Problem is that the RPM is VERY low. Like just above stalling. I can give it a bit of gas to bring the RPM up to 800 or so it can warm up. If I give it any more gas then that, the engine revs up and down eratically untill I let up on the gas a bit. If I take my foot off completely, the idle goes down to almost nothing.
So basically I sit there with my foot on the gas slightly to keep the car reving evenly at around 800rpm. (in order to warm up) After about 2 minutes, the car sorta "evens out" and I can take my foot off the accelerator and the car idles normally. BUT.....I have to turn the car off in order to reset the computer. After this I can start the car normally.
The check engine light does come on when I have this problem. I havent yet peeled back the carpet to see what the LED readouts say though.
Anybody have any idea about what this problem is?
