Your local autoparts store will sell a gritty cream to get rid of spots (on glass only)

Well, I had the exact issue on my windows and went to the hardware store to look for some type of solvent or remedy. The reason why I went to a hardware store was because every type of cleaner found at the auto parts stores were useless. Anyhow, I picked up a sack of Fine Grit steel wool and went to town. Came off without a problem, or a scratch.

Now that we are on the subject. My windshield glass is the factory original and I was wondering if there is any way of removing all the swirly marks and windshield wiper marks on the glass WITHOUT replacing it. Is there any known Glass polishing system available?
try sigma aldrich and get 100% ethanol and that **** will come right off. i had to do this many times with my glass ware for organic chemistry lab and ethanol worked like a charm. see it pays to be a chemistry geek
