VSS Wiring Help
Speedo gauge wasn't working so I ran a new wire from the gauge cluster to the vss and spun the vss with a drill and the speedo worked. I used a spare vss I had to try it out so I wouldn't have to take the one out of the tranny. I plug the vss clip back into the sensor in the tranny and it doesn't work. So that must mean junk vss in tranny. Thats fine I got a spare. What I am wondering is: I cut the original vss singnal wire and ran my own. I did not run a wire from the guage cluster to the ecu. Will my vtec still work once I change the junk vss out. Or will my speedo work but no vtec because I cut the original wire. I know I know just swap sensors and try it. I just thought I would ask so I could understand better.
I cut the blue/white wire(signal to cluster) and wired my own because orignal had a break it in somewheres. Since I cut the original bluewhite to the cluster do I need to run a new wire from the cluster to the ecu or is that a totally different wire?
Hope this make since to somebody.
