Like the title says. If you're in Dallas and would like to earn a few bucks, or some beer just to show me the basics on how to weld, hit me up....

your best bet is to take some class's at a local community college or something. any profesional business is not going to take time out of their day to "help your for a case of beer" business's dont make money that way. and you cant possibly learn all you need to know in a such a short period of time. if its the basics you are looking for, i say go to the CC.

I agree. I learned how to weld at a local community college 3 years ago. They had an excellent welding program. I took tig, mig and stick. It's better than just grabbing a welder and going. You will learn more then just how to manipulate the puddle and move your hands. You'll learn more about the metals, what types of gas to use on certain metals and methods and also do more out of position welds...which will help a lot. Also the most important thing is learning how to set the machine up properly. I know people who can weld and do a decent job if the machine is set up right but wouldnt know where to start if they just walked up to one. It's really not that expensive if you just take the welding courses. I think mine was less than 200 bucks for a semester. You will have to buy your equipment though but it's not expensive if you go to the right places.

I took a class at TCC. IIRC, it was right around $300. I used up enough coupons and filler in that class to more than pay for itself.

Mountain view has a good tig/mig course. It's only about $80 too. The night instructor is a VERY good weldor.
