Default Question about install of dvd player in for f150.

I have a 98 for f150. I picked up this dvd player.

The dash has a double din size opening as well.

I just dont see any way to attatch this head unit in that dash design.

Surely this is not a custom install job.

Anyone have knowledge of this application or know of an install kit?

Thanks

I believe Metra has a double din kit they make that will fit your car, I'll see if I can find the model number when I go to work later on today.

you are going to have to customize it to fit. yes the opening is quite close to 2 din size. Did you buy it new? if so you should have the 'cage' that the radio locks into. You secure the cage to the sub dash- your trim will fit over it. You may have to mold/modify the dash trim if you want an 'oem' look to it.

put that radio in the radio hole to the depth it needs to be, take backstraps and bend accordingly from the iso holes on the side of the radio to the oem plastic frame arond the radio. take a scew(<no r) driver and fasten the back straps to the radio with the iso screws, then take short screws and run through the backstraps into the oem plastic frame. put you oem trim/ dash vent panel back on. then take the trim ring that comes with the radio and grind on bench grinder until it fits to fill the gap between the new radio face and the oem trim. we have done NUMEROUS double din screens in your body style f150 at my work, and they look damn good in there. i hope this helps, good luck.
