Default slower car after ITR cams WTF!!!

alright I just installed these cams in and I got a slower 1/4 time, with stock cams the best I could do was a 15.1@91mph now I'm doin 15.3 @89 mph WTF?? do I need to up the fuel pressure? I know I would lose some midrange but dam I didnt expect this much. I know that these cams need to be tuned to get full advantage of the extra lift and duration but didnt expect a lose in hp.. any ideas

ps the cams are lined up properly and timing is set to stock. any input much appreciated!!

I know the obvoius answer is to get our car tuned on the dyno, which im sure you already know. Just "installing" the cams will get you nowhere, you need to tune them to your motor.

I still find it hard to believe that you went slower. Tuned or not, the extra lift and duration should have helped you out. What does your ignition timing look like now as compared to before? I'm sure you moved the dist. What about the cams, any chance you got one a tooth off?

I LOST 13 HP on the dyno from ITR cams....

Then we jacked around with the fuel and GAINED 13 over where I was from stock...

Anyway, throw about 5-10 PSI of fuel at it and be happy... the motor should sound MUCH deeper toned once it comes back to a nice 12:1 fuel ratio, and it'll pull MUCH harder.

I will double check the belt to make sure it's not off a tooth, I figured it needed more fuel cause it does not go to full rich at WOT(it should right?). I know I dont drive very well since my times are all over the place but my MPH are consistent so I know I'm down on power. anway keep the ideas comin I need it. also what kind of regulator should I get? I was thinkin B&M... I do have the guage already.

build valvetrain to get more hp at higher rev(i.e:itr valve springs) to get full potential of cams and advance timing.

If you were off a tooth, you would know it b/c you would have already destroyed some valves
